The dogwood has long been associated with Christianity as it is believed that the crucifix was constructed from the dogwood tree. The four bracts of the flower are symbolic of the four corners of the cross. Additionally, Victorian gentlemen would present a dogwood blossom to a woman as a courting ritual; if she returned the blossom, he was rejected as a suitor.
These lovely blossoms are engraved and formed sterling silver. Light weight. These are highly polished and reflect light, as you can see shadows on the photos.
